John Surtees receives cheque from Club Chairman John Coughtrie and events secretary Phil Jameson
The first quattro annual Dinner, a sell out success at what has been described as the "best AGM weekend ever". Based at the Thistle Hotel close to Castle Donington race circuit, over 50 members sat down to an excellent meal followed by two high profile quattro speakers; Author Jeremy Walton and Audi co-Driver, (plus many other talents), Phil Short - a qOC life member.
Jeremy and Phil provided some unique and humorous insights to the early days of the quattro.
A fundraising auction followed the dinner with the various items seeing competition around the room as members outbid each other. The results were as follows;
Genuine 1980’s Audi Sport Jacket - Donated by Phil Short - Winning Bidder John Clark
Passenger ride in a Sport S1 Rally quattro - Donated by Andy Krinks - Winning Bidder John Bowden
Passenger ride in a Group A Rally quattro - Donated by Nick Barrington - Winning Bidder Andy Galloway
Autoglym Valeting Kit - Donated by John Bowden - Winning Bidder Phil Jameson
With the auction raising an impressive £650, a great evening was finished off with a generous raffle.
Thanks must go to all of the prize donors and to “Rallying with Group B” for facilitating the quattro rally car rides. We must also thank Donington Historic Festival organisers for creating the opportunity to personally hand over the cheque to John Surtees.
A huge round of applause to Phil Jameson and Lorraine Ward for organising an exceptional weekend.
