Restoration Show NEC 22-24/03/24

Michael Clews displayed his immaculately restored Helios Blue early RHD model which was completed only one week prior to the show, running perfectly and looking stunning to say the least.

This is the car Michael  purchased from Mathewsons AKA 'Bangers and Cash' and received a great deal of well-deserved complements from the public as to the standard of the restoration. A credit to its owner and we hope to see a lot more of this car as Michael intends to keep the cobwebs away. The journey home was Michael's sons first time in the quattro and by all accounts it did not fail to impress.

Roger Galvin displayed a pre-restoration project car, a white WR which he happily trailered to the show covered in what was described as a 'patina' and in need of some serious TLC,  this car was a really interesting attraction and sparked up some good conversations about quattro ownership, maintenance and restoration.

Two members also displaying at other parts of the show were Phil Welton with his fire breathing short wheelbase replica on the Classic Car magazine stand and Graham Smith with another shortie on the “Sporting Bears Dream Rides” stand which has been a personal goal of his.

Sporting bears www.sportingbears.co.uk is an enthusiast group that supports children's charities by offering members of the public the chance to ride in a number of interesting cars. The quattro was well received and was fully booked for the whole time that it was in the paddock. Well done Graham.
